margincalculator.fyi exists because most online margin calculators are slow, ad-heavy, and full of unrelated tools that get in the way of a simple answer. We wanted one place to do the four pieces of pricing math we reach for every week — and nothing else.
It’s built for shop owners, freelancers, e-commerce sellers, finance teams, and anyone who’s ever opened a spreadsheet just to work out a margin. Whether you’re pricing a new product, backing into a cost target, applying VAT, or running a sale, the answer should appear the moment you finish typing.
The site offers four focused calculators — margin, markup, VAT, and discount — plus a bulk CSV mode for pricing entire catalogs at once, and shareable links so you can drop a scenario into Slack or email without screenshots. Multi-currency formatting is built in.
How the math works: margin is profit ÷ revenue, markup is profit ÷ cost, VAT is added or extracted using your chosen rate, and discounts apply on a before-tax basis. Full formulas live on the Formulas page so you can verify every result.
Privacy: everything runs in your browser. No backend, no accounts, no tracking of your inputs. Your numbers never leave your machine. The only things we store locally are your theme and currency preference.
