What's the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a percentage of revenue. Markup is profit as a percentage of cost. The same dollar profit gives different percentages depending on which one you use.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Every calculation — including the bulk CSV — runs entirely in your browser. We don't upload, store, or track your inputs.
Can I share a calculation with someone?
Yes. Each calculator has a Share button that copies a link with your inputs encoded. Anyone opening it gets the same numbers prefilled.
What CSV format does the bulk calculator expect?
A header row with columns named 'cost' and 'revenue' (case-insensitive). We accept aliases like cogs, expense, price, sales. Extra columns are kept untouched in the output.
Which currencies do you support?
USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, INR, and BRL. Your selection is remembered between visits.
How do I add VAT to a price?
Use the VAT calculator in 'Add tax' mode, enter your net price and tax rate, and you'll instantly get the gross total and tax amount.
